What can we expect if we go?

    Caladesi Island State Park has been voted the #2 beach in the United States by Dr. Beach (Steve Leatherman) and you can get there from here without using the ferry!

    This ride-walk takes about 2-4 hours.  Take Mandalay Avenue North all the way to the Carlouel Gates (about 2 miles from our Hilton location, about 3 miles from our Shepherds' location).  Go left one block to the Beach Access, and lock your bike(s) in the bike rack there.  Go to the beach, turn right (North) and walk about 1/2 mile to the most pristine beach in Florida! 

    Caladesi offers fabulous shelling, private sun bathing, natural habitats and much more including a picnic area with grills for cooking out. 

    Be sure to take along lots of water, snacks, sun block, shoes, hat, camera and a carry sack to bring home the treasures you'll find along your way.
